Scientists bring fossils, DNA to light in Natural Trap Cave

Scientists are uncovering fossils from more than 10,000 years ago in a cavern in northwest Wyoming near Lovell. They are extracting DNA from the bones, which are well-preserved in the year-round 50-degree temperatures in the cave. So far, they’ve found fossils from different wolves, bears, American lions and cheetahs, prehistoric horses, camels, bison and mammoths.
